MoneyFAQ

Privacy Policy

Effective June 1, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how MoneyFAQ (“MoneyFAQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares the personal information you provide when you visit our website, read our guides, or use any of our services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Purpose

MoneyFAQ is a free financial education platform. We publish plain-language guides and connect readers with optional, clearly labeled offers from third-party partners. We are not a lender, bank, or insurer. This Policy tells you what we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version here and update the effective date. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted means you accept them.

What This Policy Applies To

This Policy applies to information we collect:

  • On the Services;
  • In email, text, and other messages between you and MoneyFAQ;
  • When you complete a form, such as our contact or account forms; and
  • When you interact with our content or advertising that links to this Policy.

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Information We Collect

We collect information that identifies you (“personal information”), such as your first and last name and email address, and information that does not identify you individually, such as usage and device details. We collect this information:

  • Directly from you — for example, when you create an account or send us a message through our contact form;
  • Automatically as you use the Services — including your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and information collected through cookies and similar technologies; and
  • From third parties — such as our advertising and analytics partners.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and certain third parties use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to keep the Services secure, remember your preferences, understand how the Services are used, and deliver relevant content. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; if you do, some parts of the Services may not work properly.

Some content and advertising on the Services is served by third parties who may use their own tracking technologies. We do not control those technologies. Questions about a specific ad or partner should be directed to that provider.

“Do Not Track”

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, the Services do not currently respond to them.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Services and present our content to you;
  • Create and maintain your account and respond to your requests and messages;
  • Show relevant educational content and optional, labeled partner offers;
  • Keep the Services safe and secure and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • Send you service or account notices, and — only if you opt in — marketing updates you can unsubscribe from at any time; and
  • Comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep account information until you delete your account, and we retain some information as needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Marketing preferences are kept until you ask us to remove them. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell you anything, and browsing MoneyFAQ never affects your credit score. We may share personal information:

  • With service providers who help us operate the Services and are bound to keep it confidential;
  • With a partner when you choose to apply for or explore one of their offers, so they can process your request;
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; and
  • When required to comply with the law, respond to legal process, or protect the rights, property, or safety of MoneyFAQ, our users, or others.

Your Choices

We give you control over your information:

  • Marketing emails: unsubscribe any time using the link in the email.
  • Cookies: adjust your browser settings to refuse or delete cookies.
  • Account data: contact us to access, correct, or delete your information.

Third-Party Links

The Services may link to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing information with them.

How We Protect Your Information

We use commercially reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential, and notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

Privacy Notice for California Residents

If you are a California resident, additional rights and disclosures apply to you under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended.

Please see our dedicated California Privacy Rights notice for full details, including the categories of information we collect, how it is used and shared, and how to exercise your rights.
