California Privacy Rights

Effective June 1, 2026

This California Privacy Rights notice applies solely to visitors and users who reside in the State of California (“consumers” or “you”). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used here. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

In the preceding twelve (12) months, MoneyFAQ may have collected the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers — such as your first and last name, email address, IP address, and online identifiers;
  • Internet or other network activity — such as your browsing history and interaction with the Services;
  • Geolocation data — approximate location derived from your IP address; and
  • Inferences — drawn from the above to understand your preferences and interests.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect biometric information, and we do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account numbers, or similar sensitive identifiers through the Services. Personal information does not include publicly available government records or de-identified or aggregated information.

Sources of Personal Information

We obtain personal information from these sources:

  • Directly from you, when you create an account or submit a form;
  • Automatically, as you use the Services (cookies and similar technologies); and
  • From third parties, such as our advertising and analytics partners.

How We Use Personal Information

We use the categories above for the business purposes described in our Privacy Policy — including to operate, secure, and improve the Services, respond to your requests, show relevant educational content and optional labeled partner offers, and comply with applicable law. We will not use your personal information for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.

How We Share Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to service providers who help us operate the Services, and — when you choose to explore an offer — to the relevant partner so they can process your request. Any recipient is contractually required to keep the information confidential and use it only for the agreed purpose.

Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way that requires an opt-out under the CPRA. We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know are under 16 years of age.

Your California Rights

As a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
  • Request deletion of personal information we collected, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • Opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; and
  • Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Submit a verifiable consumer request by contacting us using the details below or through our Contact page. Only you, or a person you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a request. You may make a request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. We will respond within the timeframes required by the CCPA (generally 45 days, extendable by up to 45 additional days when reasonably necessary). We do not charge a fee unless your request is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.

Verification

To protect your information, we may need to verify your identity before responding. This may include asking you to provide information that we can match against information we already hold. We use information provided in a request only to verify and respond to it.

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you services, charge you different prices, or provide a different level or quality of service because you exercised your rights.

Shine the Light

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code § 1798.83) permits California residents to request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, contact us using the details below.
